Male Waxing London is not a salon with rotating staff. It is one man, José Wilker, working one client at a time in a private studio in Harlesden, NW10. He has run it since April 2015 — over a decade serving men across North West London who want intimate and body waxing done in private, by a specialist, without the awkwardness of a mixed high-street salon.

Ten years of hands-on experience

José brings more than a decade of professional bodywork to the treatment table: over ten years in massage therapy and seven-plus years specialising in male waxing. That combination matters more than it sounds. Waxing well is not just about removing hair — it is about reading skin, managing tension, and knowing how a body responds to touch. The massage background is why José works at a measured pace and reads where a client is holding tension, instead of rushing through.

He is a registered member of The Guild of Beauty Therapists, one of the UK’s established professional bodies for the industry — which means the practice is held to recognised professional and hygiene standards rather than working to no one’s rules.

Why a men-only studio

The decision to work exclusively with men is deliberate, for two reasons. First, the craft: male hair is denser and coarser than female hair, and male skin — especially in intimate areas — behaves differently under wax. A practitioner who works on men all day, every day, builds a specific feel for it that a general salon simply cannot.

Second, comfort. A private, male-only space removes the self-consciousness that stops many men booking in the first place. There is no waiting room full of strangers, no receptionist, no performance. It is also why the studio is openly LGBTQ+ friendly and a safe space for gay and transgender clients — everyone is treated with the same professional matter-of-factness, from man to man. How José works

Every appointment is one-to-one and by appointment only. José uses Hive of Beauty professional hot wax for intimate waxing — it sets on the hair and lifts it cleanly rather than dragging at sensitive skin — and works in gloves throughout, to the hygiene standards his Guild membership requires. Before anything starts, he talks you through the treatment and confirms exactly what you want removed. First-timers are never rushed.

He speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish, so Brazilian and Latin clients can book and be treated in their own language. Alongside waxing, José offers massage therapy — deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, hot stone and reflexology — drawing on the same decade of training. You can book massage as well as waxing.
